Today many of us experience a sense of disconnectedness from the past, from ourselves, and from each other. The spiritual implications of this are that we often find ourselves trying to discover a new way to connect with God, based on how we feel internally, in isolation from others. This leaves many of us discouraged and uncertain of where to turn for help.
The Book of Common Prayer is a tool that helps us answer these challenges by allowing us to:
Look to the past to learn from previous generations in the church.
Take the natural world and the limits of our created bodies seriously.
