Teachers need to have a love for the Word of God and a desire to share the gospel with children, no Biblical training necessary! Full scripted lessons are provided each week as part of a yearly curriculum cycle, and teachers are asked to look over and pray for the week’s lesson a few days before teaching to be prepared. Teachers should be heavily invested in seeing their group of children thrive in their faith and find belonging both with their peers and in the greater parish context over the course of the ministry year.Frequency: One service once every three weeks, or more.
Teachers are asked to serve no less than one service every three weeks and requires some weekly preparation to review the lesson before the Sunday you serve. Arrive 20 minutes before the service to help prepare the space for the children, and you will serve from the point children are invited to class through when they return to their parents. We ask that teachers to commit to one classroom for the launch of the year (August) through to the end of the year (May). Volunteer schedules are created every quarter in the ministry year (Fall, Winter, Spring), so if any changes need to be made there is an opportunity every few months to reassess.

Assistants need to have a love of children and an ability to form trusted relationships with them over the course of the ministry year. Assistants are asked to do the practical work in the classroom such as helping prepare snacks and games, and to help maintain a peaceful and safe space for all kids as the teacher leads the lesson. This role requires a gentle but firm presence and a strong sense of humor.Frequency: One service once every three weeks, or more.

Coordinators oversee check-in before children’s classes begin and help ensure all children’s spaces are running smoothly and on time while classes are in session. Coordinators are friendly, welcoming faces for new and returning families at check-in, responsive in emergencies big and small while classes are in session, and ensure that general safety measures are upheld in children’s ministry. Your work might include entering a new family into our system to check-in their children, messaging parents to retrieve a crying baby from the nursery, tracking the timing of the service to ensure classes are running on time, and more. This role requires a calm, friendly, and confident presence.Frequency: One service once a month, or more.

We ask our nursery volunteers to come with patient hearts, a good sense of humor, and a willingness to embrace both the joys and challenges of caring for children through many different developmental stages. Above all, we hope our volunteers have a heart to serve the youngest in our midst with love and gentleness, creating a safe space where children are well cared for so their parents can worship with peace of mind.Frequency: One service once a month, or more.
Nursery Workers are asked to serve no less than one service, once a month and involves no weekly preparation. Each week, you'll receive a list of the babies in our nursery, and we invite you to pray for each child by name. As you serve throughout the year you'll have the opportunity to build relationships with babies and toddlers ages 6 months to 3 years by caring for them, reading beautiful stories, and engaging in play alongside our childcare staff. We ask that volunteers commit for the launch of the ministry year (August) to the end of that ministry year (May). Volunteer schedules are created quarterly to provide flexibility and consistency. Our nursery ministry continues throughout the summer, and many volunteers choose to serve year-round. -

There are events during our parish yearly calendar that require special set up for children’s ministry events such as our Advent Wreath Workshop and the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner. This might involve moving furniture, hauling supplies to different locations, preparing and setting up crafts and activities, or picking up catering orders. This volunteer does not work directly with children, but is willing to offer time to help our ministry serve families through the practical needs of our ministry.Frequency: As-needed for special projects
