SUNDAY WORSHIP AND PRAYER
During the Time of Coronavirus
PREPARE
Set aside 1 hour of uninterrupted time.
Choose a good location in your home, a living room or around the kitchen table.
Light a candle.
If you have very young children who will not be able to engage, consider choosing your time of worship during their nap time or after bedtime.
If you have young children who may be able to engage with part or all of the time, tell them ahead of time and think about some things they might do while you listen to the sermon and discuss it. (Craft projects like coloring a picture, writing a letter to a neighbor, building a bible scene with legos or blocks, etc.)
Resist the impulse to multi-task. When you are praying, listening, and singing - let it be the only thing you are doing.
When you are finished, extinguish the candle, thank each other for their prayers,
and return to your work with glad and grateful hearts.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
BLESS YOUR BLOCK
This past week we launched a new initiative to help us proactively care for our neighbors. Click here to hear from Redeemer's Justice and Mercy Coordinator, Teryn Morgan, or here for an overview of Bless Your Block.
BLESS YOUR BLOCK SPOTLIGHT: THE WILLIAMSONS
Social distancing (coupled with large amounts of rainy and cold days over the past month) has presented many challenges for our family of 3 kiddos under age 4. Last week, we had a very "sweet" surprise that brightened our day when the Williamson family rolled up in their homemade ice cream delivery truck! Our girls got to choose from a homemade poster of tasty treats and see some friendly, familiar faces :) We were one stop of many as they were making their way to bless both members of Redeemer and other friends on the SouthSide. Rachel has also been busy baking bread to deliver to neighbors as a way to break the ice and check-in to see if they have needs and are doing well. I felt very blessed by their thoughtfulness and the simplicity with how they are choosing to care for their neighbors. Thank-you to David, Rachel, Henry, Maggie, Rosie, and Jane for loving and blessing your block so very well!

NEW DIRECTOR OF REDEEMER KIDS
Join us in welcoming Casey Cisco as our new Director of Redeemer Kids! Casey joined our staff in 2019 and has excelled as Redeemer's Administrator. She has felt a call to pursue ministry since high school and is passionate about the church's role in the spiritual formation of children.
Casey will continue as Redeemer's Administrator in addition to her new role which will begin when Redeemer resumes some form of corporate worship in the coming months. As of now, we don't know when that will be or what our gatherings (and Redeemer Kids classes) will look like; but we're excited for Casey to take the helm!
BRING A GROWING FAMILY A MEAL
Congratulations to Thomas and Elizabeth DiStanislao who welcomed baby George into the world last week! The DiStanislao's recently relocated to Roanoke and we'd like to help their family during this season of multiple transitions. Please consider ordering takeout to be delivered to their home.
There are other growing families in our midst too. Click accordingly to bring a meal to Kevin and Rachel Capel, Malcolm and Jess Norris and Nelson and Anne Smith.
